From The Email Wars Blog - Blackberry’s and Email Marketing Resources

Here are some resources IF you have audiences that you know are using Blackberry’s. Most of us at eROI are armed with them in our daily war on email delivery, but some of you might not. These are some good resources to use to test for yourself if you don’t know how your emails render on the device.

Trust me, most of the multi-part of TEXT emails I get are bad.

We use the first one a a PC to test sometimes if the devices are not in the office. It is a little tricky to install, but worth the effort.

Posted On Search Engine Roundtable - How Do You Forbid Google from Offering the “View as HTML” Link for PDF Files?

A discussion at WebmasterWorld has users trying to determine why some PDF files don’t get indexed with a “View as HTML” link whereas others do. How can you implement the same functionality?

Nobody knows if it’s possible. The suspicion is that Google can process some PDF files and not others, and it’s not an opt-out procedure.

I think it may not be displayed when Google actually has a hard time converting the PDF document to HTML, not because the webmaster instructed them to.

Meanwhile, a number of users are pretty disappointed that a webmaster would even want to disallow that link. They seem to hate the idea of having to open a file as a pure PDF.

If you want to publish documents on the web, put them in a web format.

Better yet would be an option to integrate a Google PDF reader instead of relying on Adobe’s service, which is getting a lot of negative comments in the thread.

Maybe now Google have an online documents service, they could ‘invent’ a new pdf-style service.

Is there a directive that will allow this to be implemented? Nobody seems to know. Do you?

Forum discussion continues at WebmasterWorld.

Posted on PPC Discussions Blog - Use “lousy content” for your ppc landing pages

And pay a lot more than you need to. I read SEL pretty much every day. Lots of great stuff out there. I was reading an article on duplicate content today and was a bit surprised to see the following; “The bottom line is that the engines are actively seeking out lousy content and removing it from their main results. If this sounds like your site, don’t be surprised to wake up one day and find Read more…
